Wake up in the morning to the sounds
of the countryside and then walk for a mile
through the fields to Ashford village, one of the
prettiest in Derbyshire, to buy your papers and
provisions at our excellent village shop and to
admire the picturesque “Sheepwash Bridge”.
Alternatively, the Monsal Trail is at the end of
our drive, it offers gentle level walks to Monsal
Head and Bakewell with wild flowers in profusion.
The whole area is a treasure trove of history,
beauty and gastro experiences. Within 10 minutes
drive are Chatsworth and Haddon Hall and
picturesque villages. The attractive market town
of Bakewell nearby, (famous for its puddings)
offers a wide variety of shops, pubs and
restaurants.
